Hurricane Katrina

On August 29, 2005 my life was turned upside down by Katrina.
My home survived with minor damage but my employer, The Beau
Rivage Casino was totally gutted and it was closed for one year. I
wish I could adequately describe the horror I have seen, felt,
smelled and tasted. I wish I could describe the heartbreaking
feeling of terrible home sickness for a way of life that is gone
forever. I learned an important lesson from Katrina. Armageddon
is not global, it is personal. Every single one of us will have to
encounter our own personal Armageddon which we will either
survive or succumb to. I survived but I will never forget how close I
came to being a victim of circumstances beyond anyone's control.
The above pictures are of my home the day after Katrina and
after the clean up. The featured pic is of my hot tub and it
still works today.
